- Knee Sprain/Strain
A Knee Sprain/Strain is a stretching or tearing of the tendons and/or ligaments around the knee joint. It is the most common type of knee injury. It is caused by a fall, twisting or bending of the knee outside of its normal range of motion. The knee is a hinged joint and moves in one body plane. Anything beyond that can cause a sprain or strain.
A sprain refers to a ligament injury while a strain refers to tendon injury.
